Tanaka is a world traveler, often riding along with one of the multiple well known punk bands he documents. This seems to help him catch most of the unique, rich and engaging subject matter found littered like confetti through his work. A knack for involving almost anything in the world as part of the realm he creates with his camera. Colorful, inspired and gripping.
“Moving one place to another, going into familiar and unfamiliar scenes. Countless encounters during life on the road. Things can be different but feels like its constant repetition under pile of time and distance. Often some random things just happen to you and we have no control over avoiding it. Time and current can be twisted, distance and space can be distorted. I explore relations between encounters, randomness and consequences through experience and memento.”
